New MD & CEO for the PNA Card Service AB

Kurt Gjesten – the MD & CEO of the PNA Card Service AB (PNA) since 2011 has decided to retire by 1. October 2019 and the Board has appointed Michael Hoffmann as the new MD & CEO for the PNA and the associations that PNA are supporting.

Michael has been in the Payment Card Business for more than a decade. First as Project and Product Manager within Danske Bank, and since 2011 in a role as Market Infrastructure Manager at Danske Bank. Michael has represented Danske Bank and the Danish Banking Sector in many card related forums in Denmark, the Nordics and at a European level - supporting interoperability and security for card payments - domestically and internationally.

Michael has been involved in the Dankort Sector cooperation, Finance Denmark, Danish Central Bank, Association of Danish Card Issuers, Card Payments Denmark, Card Payments Sweden, European Payment Council, European Cards Stakeholder Group, European Retail Payment Board, European Banking Association, and the PAN-Nordic Card Association. Michael has been a heavy contributor to the maintenance of The Volume/The Book of Requirements, at the ECSG.

Michael has held positions for more than 40 years within the Danske Bank Group; within retail and business banking, Mortgage Lending and in Insurance. Michael has experience in working internationally with projects in The Nordics, UK/Ireland, Germany and USA.

Michael holds an Academy Foundation from Niels Brock Business Academy (Copenhagen). Michael is certified 'IPMA Certified Project Manager Professional' from International Project Management Association, and holds an NLP Certification from Performex HR.

Michael lives in Taastrup, outside of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Kurt Gjesten will step down from his position after serving the PNA and the associations since 2004. There will be held farewell receptions in Copenhagen (1st October) and in Stockholm (17th October), where you also will have the chance to meet with Michael.
